Frequently asked questions
-
What type of music do you perform?I perform acoustic covers with a soulful touch, blending heartfelt vocals with my nylon-string guitar. My song choices range from timeless classics to more contemporary favourites, mainly the 80s to 2000s hits, with a special love for the 90s. If you have specific requests, let me know—I’m happy to learn songs prior to your event to make it even more special.
-
Do you only perform covers, or do you also write original songs? At this stage, I primarily perform covers. Each song is thoughtfully chosen and interpreted in my own unique style.
-
What kind of events do you play at?I’m available for a variety of events, including cocktail hours, intimate gatherings, private parties, and weddings—particularly during the earlier part of the day. My acoustic covers create a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for sitting back, enjoying a drink, or even singing along to some familiar bops. While my performances have inspired some dancing, the vibe is more relaxed and soulful—think a mellow, feel-good soundtrack rather than a high-energy “are you ready?!” performance.
-
Can I request specific songs for my event?Yes, I welcome song requests, especially if they’re submitted before the event so I have time to prepare. I spend time carefully curating a setlist to suit the vibe of your event, so while I’ll do my best to accommodate requests on the day, they may not always be possible—especially if I’m unfamiliar with the song. Let me know your favourites in advance, and if they align with my style, I’ll happily include them!
-
Do you provide your own equipment (e.g., sound system, microphone)?Yes, I bring my own equipment, including a Boss Street Cube sound system and microphone, which provides moderate volume—perfect for small to medium-sized events. For larger venues or crowds, I can either hire a PA system or plug into an existing setup if available. All I need is access to power.
-
How far in advance do I need to book you?I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends or peak event periods. That said, feel free to contact me for last-minute availability—I’ll do my best to accommodate.
-
How long can you perform for?My standard sets are 45 minutes, with a 15-minute break in between. I can perform up to three sets for longer events, depending on your needs.
-
What are your rates for live performances?Rates vary depending on the type and duration of the event. I am based in Dalby, so travel and/or accommodation costs may need to be factored in for events further afield. As a guide, my rates start at $250 (AMA minimum fee) plus a premium/market rate component depending on the specifics of your event. This helps keep things fair for musicians—so we’re no longer playing for pints (as much as we love them)! Please contact me at info.littlered.au@gmail.com or through my socials to discuss your event and get a personalised quote.
-
Do you perform solo or with other musicians?I currently perform solo, creating an intimate and personal experience with just my voice and guitar. However, I’ve also performed with No Drama - Darling Downs and frequently share the stage with Amanda Marchant, all talented Dalby-based musicians. While we don’t typically perform duets, we support each other’s sets, offering a diverse mix of styles that complement each other beautifully. You will often see Amanda and I busking on the Dalby main street :) It’s a collaboration that adds variety and makes for a memorable experience for audiences :) To check out their pages and music, click below: No Drama - Darling Downs: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100066778422365 Amanda Marchant: https://www.facebook.com/arttarotmusic

Can you travel for events outside of your local area?Yes, I can travel for events! I love exploring new places and meeting new people, so I’m happy to discuss opportunities outside my usual areas. Travel fees may apply, depending on the location, so feel free to reach out to discuss the details.
-
Are your earrings hypoallergenic?Yes, my earrings are hypoallergenic. I use 304 stainless steel, which is a durable and skin-friendly material, making it a great option for those with sensitive ears.
-
Why did you choose 304 Stainless Steel?I chose 304 stainless steel because it offers the perfect balance of strength, durability, and value for money. This grade of stainless steel is highly resistant to tarnish and corrosion, making it ideal for long-lasting jewellery that maintains its appearance over time. While 316 stainless steel (also known as "surgical steel") is more corrosion-resistant, it contains a higher percentage of nickel (up to 12%). For this reason, I prefer 304 stainless steel, which typically contains around 8% nickel. I ensure that all findings entering the ear are tested using a two-part nickel test solution to confirm that no nickel is present on the surface, providing peace of mind for my customers. 304 stainless steel is a versatile, general-purpose option that provides all the desired attributes for jewellery—beautiful, durable, and safe for most people. However, those with severe nickel sensitivities should exercise caution, as no stainless steel is entirely nickel-free.

How do I need to care of my jewellery? To keep your jewellery looking its best, follow these care tips: Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your jewellery away from chemicals like perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products, as they can affect the finish. Store Properly: Store your pieces in a dry, cool place, preferably in a jewellery box or pouch, to prevent scratches and tarnish. Clean Gently: Use a soft cloth to clean your jewellery. For more stubborn marks, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can help. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Remove Before Certain Activities: Take off your jewellery before swimming, showering, or engaging in vigorous activities to minimise exposure to moisture, chlorine, or physical damage. If any pendants tarnish or react to sweat or salt water, I recommend using Autosol Shine polish (available from Bunnings Warehouse)—it works a treat to restore shine and remove tarnish! With a little care, your jewellery can stay beautiful for years to come.
-
Will there be colour and symmetry variances in my jewellery?Yes, due to the handmade nature of my jewellery, each piece is one-of-a-kind and may have slight variations in colour, shape, and symmetry. These unique details are part of what makes handmade jewellery so special. Please also note that colours may appear slightly different in real life compared to what you see on your screen, as monitor settings can affect colour accuracy.
-
How do you package your products?I package each order with care, aiming to make it feel like you’re opening a special present! Your jewellery will arrive beautifully presented, ensuring it’s ready for gifting or a delightful treat for yourself. I’ve also taken extra precautions to keep your jewellery safe during transit. For stud earrings, I now use rubber stops for added strength and security, so your pieces stay in perfect condition.
-
Can I return my products?Due to the intimate nature of earrings and for hygiene reasons, I cannot accept returns or exchanges. I take great care to ensure that all items are thoroughly inspected and packaged securely before shipping to meet high-quality standards. If you have any concerns about your order, please feel free to reach out to me at info.littlered.au@gmail.com, and I’ll do my best to assist you.
-
My earring back has come off, what can I do?Due to the nature of handmade jewellery, this can occasionally happen. I apply a liberal amount of glue to secure the posts, but I also carefully remove any excess to ensure it doesn’t irritate your ears when it dries. If your earring back comes off, you have a few options: You can simply reattach it using super glue at home. Alternatively, get in touch with me at info.littlered.au@gmail.com, and we can arrange for me to fix it for you. If you prefer to do it yourself, I can send you a small amount of glue and replacement posts so you can repair it easily. I’m here to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
